Intensive Russian Strikes Eliminate Power In Kyiv
Overnight, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have caused power cuts in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.
A number of civilians were injured while local people in eastern districts were plunged into darkness and dealt with interruptions to water systems, according to municipal leaders.
At the same time, a young boy was fatally injured in a different Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, based on information from local officials.
Moscow has increased assaults on energy facilities over the past few days, while Ukrainian leadership has demanded "concrete actions" from international partners to exert influence on Russia.
"What's needed is not superficial actions but firm measures - from the United States, European nations and the Group of Seven - in delivering defensive weapons and applying restrictions," was stated in a online statement.
Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and more than 30 projectiles attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, characterizing such attacks as "premeditated" and against "essential services" as winter approaches.
Energy officials said Russia was "launching a major assault" and maintenance teams were working to repair systems.
A barrage of missiles hit energy infrastructure and apartment buildings in Kyiv.
Multiple people hurt in the strikes on the capital have been transported for medical care, according to city authorities.
Area administrators said the city came under intense attacks throughout the evening. A seven-year-old child died and three other people were hurt.
The strikes come after nights of aerial attacks in the region, portions of which are currently controlled by Russian forces.
The whole nation is under warning for advanced weapon attacks, which are harder to detect.
Government officials told the media that Russia was deliberately attempting to destroy the electrical infrastructure, with strikes already affecting fuel infrastructure.
Authorities confirmed energy workers and government agencies were anticipating further attacks.
